Yacht Club Race June 27, 2009

It was an absolutely spectacular day for a Yacht race...  Only trouble I was unable to attend and on a day when we saw 7 boats fighting to over take this years leader; Phil!!!  In fact it was over heard that some people are calling for mandatory drug testing after each race.  They're some who believe his juiced on something. Way to much focus!

The racers this week were: Phil, Vic, Howard, Wes, Sue, Jeff and Doug...

Race one results:  Phil, Howard, Vic, Doug, Jeff, Wes and Sue
Race two results:  Phil, Jeff, Howard, Doug, Sue and Vic.  Wes didn't race.

Seems Vic was quoted after what appeared to be his best start ever, until his boat stated spinning helplessly, "I could a been a contender again."  Better luck next time!!

Then again, you maybe coulda been contenders.  Was the race official without the official starter?

Ciao,
JC

Yacht Club Race June 20,2009

Hello all,

It was an absolutely beautiful day for a yacht race...  There was a field of 3 yachts; 2 Lasers and 1 Hobie Cat...
The Hobie was piloted by Doug in the 1st race and by his wife Maggie in the 2nd race.  Phil and Vic piloted the Lasers.

First race results:  1st-Phil, 2nd-Doug and 3rd-Vic - Race time:  7:14:32

Second race results: 1st-Phil, 2nd-Vic and 3rd-Maggie - Race time: 13:30:90

Missing where Yacht Club Members Howard, Wes, Sue, Jeff and the Fire Chief Mike.....  They have been missing in action the last couple of weeks.  What's up yachters, you're giving that Trophy away.  Phil keeps piling up 1st place points and is establishing a strong lead.

Also posted some more pictures from the Deluza Palooza, be sure to check them out!

Hope everyone voted for Arf and also forwarded the information on the free puppies.

Ciao to all....And hope your weekend is going great!

Free Cute Puppies

OK, check out http://deluznews.net and view the lovely puppies that are FREE... That is; Free to a good home.
Please, if you have the space maybe you should check them out... If you have no space, maybe you know someone who does. Lets all pull our resources and see if we can find them homes... DON'T FORGET, there is also a young Rottweiler and the Mother of the puppies too! The Rot is just their friend.
As for last weeks Yacht Race, it sucked, unless you're Vic as he still insists he won both races....
HOPEFULLY we will have a full field this Saturday!!!!!
Also, while you're viewing the puppies, don't forget to check Little Layton's page, there are two new and very cute pictures... Then check the DeLuza Palooza page, just posted a very good picture of the CAMPERS!!!!
Take care, hope all have survived the BOOMS blasting through the De Luz area from Camp Pendleton... Hopefully it is drawing to an end...
But, then again, I LOVE THE SOUND OF FREEDOM!
Ciao,
JC

Yacht Club Race Saturday May 13, 2009

What a beautiful day for a boat race... 2-5 mph wind, sunny skies and some friendly Deluzian spectators made for the perfect afternoon!
The first race went to Victor. You can check him out crossing the finish line on the front page! (http://deluznews.net) A tight race was had in the second heat, but Victor again was victorious.... Cheers to Vic.
Did I forget to mention that after the races, Vic was over heard commenting, that after two error free perfect races; "I think I would have beaten Howard today", "In fact I think maybe even Phil", "I was in such perfect form!"
I think it was the friendly crowd of Deluzians that helped Victory finally become Victorious... Our hats go of to the late bloomer....
If you have never been to Ross Lake for the races, you should! Or just come by to enjoy a tranquil bonding with nature, just don't turn your back to the Gander, He Bites!!!!
Ciao, and I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend!
JC
PS: Forgot to also mention, only Vic showed for the races! Spoils always go to the Victor!

Yacht Club Races

Well it's been 2 weeks since we've had a race.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day.  For those who do show up, the leaders Phil and Howard will be no shows.  So it's anybody's chance to grab some points by taking first place.  Maybe Sue, Vic, Doug or Jeff.  But, the only way they are going to catch the leaders is to show up!!!!

We should all visit the lake to support and watch the races.  And, with the return of Vic, we can all admire his helmet, gloves and knee pads!!!!  Is this a yacht race or what.

Plus this might give us a break from all those BOMBS and 155's going off at Camp Pendleton...

Although I just love the sound of FREEDOM!

See Ya tomorrow.

Deluza Palooza

Well, the Deluza Palooza is off to a great start... Camp sites are setup and when the pictures were taken, I think everyone was waiting to eat!  Check http://deluznews.net to view pictures.

If you're in the area (it's across the street from the old De Luz School House) this evening or in the morning, stop by and say hello!!  Might even think about camping out next year.  Everyone was having a good time, including the youngest camper, Little Layton....  Wonder if he is spending the night?

As for the De Luz Yacht Club race, it appears to have been cancelled, as I was there to start the races, but NOBODY showed!!!  They all must have gone camping...

Again, anyone with something to post, let me know.

Yacht Club Races tomorrow and Cancel the key alert!

The key has been found!  Doug of Del Luz Yacht Club fame, while sailing late this afternoon found Bum Head Vic's key floating in the lake...  Must have fallen out when he his head was once again struck by the boom!  Good thing he was wearing his helmet this time!!

With the DELUZA PALOOZA camp-out starting Saturday across from the Old School House, I'm wondering if there will be any races.  If not, all you spectators should round up your sleeping gear and join the group for the camp-out.  Should be lots of fun!  Frisbee Golf, music and I'm sure some wonderful stories around the camp fire.

I'll try for several pictures to post...

REMEMBER:  Anyone with something to post; an event, something for free or anything you would like posted, just send to me and I'll do the rest.

LOST LAKE KEY - PLEASE HELP....

Please help....

I have lost my lake key when I tipped my boat while sailing on Friday June 5th. It is on the lower end of the lake so if anybody sees an orange floater with keys attached it belongs to me. OK, OK I don't know what possessed me to put my keys into my pocket and go sailing.

Thanks

Vic

"DeLuzNews We All Can Use" Re: Mosquito Fish

Hey JC
I've got a million mosquito fish down in the pond & it is going to dry up at some point this summer.
The birds enjoy eating them but if you want to run an announcement in the De Luz news for free mosquito fish that might be good.
I have a little net which works well & they are easy to catch.
It might help keep our De Luz evenings more pleasant.

Keep up the good work!
Love
Ro

"DeLuzNews We All Can Use"

Our De Luz Volunteer Fire Department spent all day from 7am to 6 PM fighting training fires on Camp Pendleton with five of our engines and 15 of our firefighters.  They fought 18 fires total ranging from 1/2 acres to 4 acres blazes. This training will continue all this week until Friday. Expect De Luz to be smokey
this week but a whole lot safer this fire season due to the increase buffer zone that was burned along De Luz Rd by our guys.   This is the 6th year our crews have trained at this event. Hundreds of fire Engines come from all over the State for the only Live wildland fire training in California.
You may watch these fire at the 5.5 mile marker turn out on De Luz Rd. These start to burn about 11:30 AM each day this week.
